Of course, she turns to her friends. Her friendship embeddedness likely causes her to minimize the negativity of her poor instructional habits; yet in this very tough time of her life, it supports her emotional well-being. As a cost-benefit decision, she had to weigh emotional support against instructional advice. If she chooses instructional advice from the other two music teachers, Jasmine may indeed learn new tricks to help her get through the day more successfully; on the other hand, she may put her emotional health into greater jeopardy. She ultimately decides that she could get by a few more days with her unruly class as long as she feels better about life in general.
